When people describe me, the word I hear the most is creative. My gifts lie in the creative arts: music, writing, drama, and literature. My teaching experience, however, has covered ESL, flute, speech, drama, and secondary language arts. I spent 16 years teaching language arts and drama at Shalom Christian Academy; for ten years I directed their dinner theater. When we moved to Boiling Springs, I began working at Bible Baptist where I taught language arts, AP Literature, and AP Composition.
When I am not working on schoolwork, I am helping my husband Thom with our Restored Life Ministries, a ministry dedicated to formational counseling. Restored Life has provided us with opportunities to do extensive traveling together.
The delight of our life is our three daughters and their families, which include eight grandchildren. We also love our two little rescue dogs, Aretha Franklin and Joy.
Since 2013 I have enjoyed being a part of the CCA faculty and community. Teaching at CCA gives me the opportunity to work closely with students and be flexible to their needs and gifts. Col 2:2 captures my desire in teaching when I echo Paul who prayed that, “their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
