Music Program

Elementary (grades K-5)

Music is taught weekly to all students at the elementary level. Choral music, rhythm, and beginning music reading is emphasized. Musical selections often enhance the content taught in elementary classrooms. Students have various opportunities to perform throughout the year in settings such as the Christmas Concert, Grandparents Day, and Chapel programs.

Secondary (grades 6-12)

Music is an elective at the secondary level. All middle school students continue building their musical education through rhythm and deepening their ability to read music. High school students are encouraged to explore our several music electives. All secondary students are invited to try out and join the worship team!

Art Program

Elementary (grades K-5)

Elementary art is a half-hour class per week, focusing on the basic elements of art, problem solving, and art history taught through a variety of media.

Middle School (grades 6-8)

Middle school students are invited to join art club that is offered in the spring.

High School (grades 9-12)

Art electives include many different mediums with a focus on fiber arts. Some of these include: Knitting, Weaving, Embroidery, Printmaking, Leatherworking, Textiles, Natural Dyes, Resin, Needle Felting, Quilting, Drawing, and Painting.

Art I students will go through the foundational elements and principles of art and learn how to apply them. We are proud to partner with Carlisle Arts Learning Center to also offer Ceramics classes! High school art electives change every year in order to offer a variety of art mediums and artistic areas of study.

 

ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) Art Festival

Each year secondary students have the opportunity to participate in the ACSI  Art Festival hosted by Messiah College.  Students have the opportunity to submit art pieces for review and the possibility of winning the art contest.
