“…be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain…” – 1 Corinthians 15:58
Hello everyone! My name is Ashlyn Yocum, and I am so excited to be returning as the camp director this summer! I have a great love for kids and watching them grow in their faith and develop their personalities. I am a May 2023 graduate of Shenandoah University with a degree in kinesiology. I am also completing my certification to be a health and physical education teacher, as well as a coach. I love watching most sports, but my favorite is basketball. You can usually find me playing with some of the campers at the end of the day! I attended CCA’s summer camp for many years as a kid. When I couldn’t be a camper anymore, I became a junior counselor for a few years. The past two summers I have been a counselor and have now been blessed with the opportunity to expand my role! There are so many great things that come from working at this camp. I get to have fun, worship Jesus, and create lasting relationships! My mission this summer is to create a safe and fun environment where the campers can learn and grow as people and in their faith.
Verse: Hebrews 11:1
What can you expect this summer at CCA?
A meaningful experience where your kid can be just that – a kid, while developing a heart for positivity, creativity, curiosity and service in the following ways:
Health and Wellness: in the spirit of encouraging growth and personal development for our campers; weekly activities will focus on movement, nutrition and emotional health. You’ll find us in the kitchen whipping up healthy treats, enjoying the fresh air, building confidence and finding our voices through lots and lots of appropriate interaction.
Physical Activity
Service: your child is sure to develop an interest and spirit for helping others this summer
Daily morning Bible lessons that are both age-appropriate and applicable to the joys and challenges of being a kid in 2023. We’ll also get your child energized with daily worship songs and prayer before lunch each day!
