Born and raised in southern Illinois, Zach and his wife Chelsea got married in June of 2012 and have since grown their family to consisting of 4 kids, 2 dogs, and 1 strong desire that they both share; to live their lives in a way that glorifies God by sharing the Gospel.
In February of 2021, the Garrett’s moved to Carlisle in following God’s leading for Zach to work at a church in the area, filling the role of children’s pastor during the last 2 years on staff. During this time, their oldest son was attending CCA and became the means through which Zach and his family grew to truly understand and appreciate the missional work of Christian education.
As God often does, through turns unexpected and doors surprisingly opened, Zach came on staff at CCA at the start of the 2024-2025 school year, teaching middle school English and history. It is with great joy that he comes to work each day, seeking to take hold of every opportunity to not only educate, but to also disciple his students so that they may grow knowledgeably and spiritually.
When time allows, Zach’s other great passions are music and good conversations over coffee. They are deeply involved in a local church where Zach plays on the worship team, and he looks forward to the coffee bar every Sunday morning!
