Thriving Together

United in Purpose - Rooted in Faith - Growing in Christ

Overview

We are very excited to announce that in August 2026, at the start of the new school year, Carlisle Christian Academy will unify the elementary and secondary students into one THRIVING campus.  The elementary classes will be integrated into the downtown, W. Pomfret St. campus, where the secondary students are currently located.  Unification of campuses at the W. Pomfret St. location provides us with increased services, stewardship and solidarity with more modern and more spacious classrooms for our elementary students.

The unification of our campuses will allow us to THRIVE by improving:

We are confident that God is leading us in this direction in order to help us THRIVE in fulfilling our mission and to maximize our impact upon students for God’s Kingdom.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the goal of the unification plan?

The overall goal of our unification plan is to position CCA in a place where we can truly thrive.  We believe that unifying our student body at one campus will allow for an overall better student experience.

What benefits will this have on CCA's elementary students?

Elementary students will benefit from a more modern and more spacious facility.  The downtown campus has a separate, multi-purpose lunchroom and multi-purpose gymnasium.  Classrooms are more modern looking and additional improvements will be made this spring to create a bright, welcoming environment.  Classrooms are also more spacious, allowing us to maximize classroom layouts for learning activities.

What benefits will this have on CCA's secondary students?

Secondary students will benefit through the creation of in-house leadership and mentorship opportunities with our elementary students.  We are envisioning a place where secondary students can offer both academic and spiritual support to their younger peers. As part of this, we are working towards the goal of creating formalized mentorship programs, including a more robust “Teachers for Tomorrow” program where high school juniors and seniors can begin exploring careers in education while lending a hand in elementary classrooms.

What benefits will this have for CCA families?

Families will benefit from having one school campus location for all their children in grades K-12, eliminating the need for drop-off and pick-up at two separate locations.

What benefits will this have on CCA's employees?

By unifying our campuses, CCA will be able to operate more efficiently and more effectively as an organization.  Having our staff all at one location will allow for the streamlining of services and the elimination of duplicity in work, particularly within administration.  This will allow our employees to be best placed in roles that fully compliment their strengths and allow for the overall improvement of student services.

What other benefits will this have for CCA?

Organizationally, CCA will be able to better steward its limited resources and save on facility costs.  In recent years, due to economic conditions, CCA has seen a drastic increase in its overall costs which has created a financial strain on the school’s budget.  By unifying the student body at one campus location, resources can be better directed towards staffing and programming that will have maximum, missional impact on its students, while keeping tuition costs manageable for CCA families.

What challenges will this change create for the elementary students?

While we believe the pros greatly outweigh the cons, the main challenge at the W. Pomfret St. campus is that it currently does not have a playground for recess.  There previously was a playground for daycare children in the courtyard outside of the main office, however this would not have been suitable for elementary students. We have been working with a playground engineer to develop plans to install a new playground, with up-to-date playground equipment, in the same location as the previous playground.  Our Thriving Together Campaign will help us raise the necessary funds to create a fun but safe area for our students to play.

What other challenges is the school working to address?

Parking lot space is more limited at the downtown location.  For day-to-day operations, there is enough parking space for staff, student drivers and visitors.  During special, school-wide events, parking will be limited.  We are working to develop partnerships with local organizations that have nearby parking lots that can be utilized during special events.

Additionally, we are evaluating our drop-off and pick-up procedures in-order to create a safe, orderly and efficient car line that will create minimal disruption on W. Pomfret St.  To do this, we plan to survey families this winter in to collect more data on drop-off and pick-up preferences.  This will assist us in finalizing our parent pick-up plans.

Providing a kind, safe, and caring environment for students to grow and learn.
